Fire doors
Fire doors play a crucial role when it comes to impeding fires. With their help, precious time can be gained to save lives and material assets. Unterwaditzer Fire Doors stand for high-quality technical engineering and are constructed according to the latest scientific findings.
Fire Protection EI 30 – EI 60 – EI 90
Taking the right fire-protection measures can not only save lives but also limit fire damage to buildings. Efficient fire-protection systems prevent fires from spreading quickly. Thus, they buy life-saving time to rescue people in emergency situations.
There are different classes of fire doors: fire-retardant doors (EI30C), highly fire-retardant doors (EI 60C) and fire-resistant doors (EI 90C). Which fire-resistance rating to apply for a door depends on how the respective building is used.
Rules regarding the installation of fire seals can be looked up in the local building regulations or in the special building regulations respectively. In Austria, every federal region has its own building regulations. Fire-protection requirements are regarded in the norm ÖNORM B 3850 (Ö).
Every single one of our fire protection systems has been examined and certified regarding said requirements by renowned testing institutions. Our products are also subject to strict official examination and control. To testify that, they are marked with the ÜA badge.
Fire seals must always be self-closing and may never be kept open permanently by wedges or similar devices. As an additional feature, fire seals can be smoke-shielding to prevent the dissemination of smoke.
Regulations concerning the self-closing of fire doors and the respective closing sequence can be disregarded in special cases, like
Apartment entry doors, hotel-room doors, burglar-resistant doors, hoistway doors and the like. Self-closing fire doors fulfil performance criterion C (ability to self-close) according to the Austrian norm ÖNORM.
